AmmaBhoj – Cancellation & Refund Policy

Introduction

This Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all orders placed through the AmmaBhoj website and mobile application (collectively, the “Platform”). Capitalized terms not defined here shall have the meaning assigned to them in the Terms of Use. This Policy explains the circumstances under which an order may be cancelled and whether a refund is applicable.

General Principles

AmmaBhoj acts as a technology platform facilitating orders between customers, independent home-chefs, and delivery partners. Food is freshly prepared for each order; therefore, cancellations and refunds are governed by fairness to customers as well as the effort and cost incurred by home-chefs and delivery partners.

Customer-Initiated Cancellation

Customers may cancel an order only within a short window after placing the order, provided food preparation has not begun. The cancellation window and eligibility may vary based on order type (daily meals, bulk, festival, or party orders).Once food preparation has started, orders cannot be cancelled and no refund shall be applicable. Repeated cancellations or misuse of the cancellation feature may result in denial of refunds or suspension of the account.

Non-Customer Cancellation

An order may be cancelled due to reasons not attributable to the customer, including but not limited to:• Unavailability of a home-chef or ordered items• Operational issues affecting order fulfillment• Delivery partner unavailability• Issues attributable to AmmaBhoj’s platform operationsIn such cases, the customer may be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on the nature of the issue.

Address & Availability Issues

No refund shall be applicable where delivery fails due to reasons attributable to the customer, including:• Incorrect or incomplete delivery address• Delivery location falling outside the serviceable area• Failure to respond to calls or messages at the time of delivery• Failure to provide required confirmation (such as OTP, if applicable) at the time of delivery

Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be issued for prepaid orders in the following situations:• Order cancelled by home-chef or delivery partner for reasons not attributable to the customer• Order not delivered due to operational issues attributable to AmmaBhoj or its partners• Order found to be materially incorrect, missing items, or packaging damaged at the time of delivery and reported immediatelyRefund eligibility shall be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

No Refund Scenarios

No refunds shall be issued in the following cases:• Orders cancelled after food preparation has commenced or the defined timelines• Issues reported after delivery has been accepted• Dissatisfaction based on personal taste or preference• Delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including traffic, weather, or local restrictions

Mode & Timeline of Refunds

Approved refunds shall be credited to the original payment method used at the time of placing the order, unless otherwise agreed. Refunds are typically processed within 5–7 business days, subject to banking and payment gateway timelines.

Cash on Delivery Orders

For orders paid at the time of delivery, customers shall not be required to make payment if:• Wrong order is delivered• Items are missing• Packaging is visibly damaged at the time of deliverySuch issues must be reported immediately before accepting delivery.

Festival, Party & Bulk Orders

Festival, party, and bulk orders involve advance planning and procurement. Cancellation and refund terms for such orders may differ and shall be communicated at the time of order confirmation. Advance payments for such orders may be non-refundable once preparation or procurement has commenced.

Decision Authority

All decisions regarding cancellations and refunds shall be made by AmmaBhoj based on this Policy. Such decisions shall be final and binding.

Food Quality Disclaimer

In case of complaints relating to food quality, hygiene, or authenticity, responsibility shall lie solely with the respective home-chef. AmmaBhoj facilitates communication and resolution but does not assume liability for food prepared by independent home-chefs.

Policy Updates

AmmaBhoj reserves the right to update or modify this Cancellation & Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon publication on the Platform.
